Drawing

So, drawing is something I really love to do, although it's not really something I'm best at. Just think of it as one of my favorite hobbies.

I was never interested in drawing when I was at the beginning of elementary. In fact, I haven't had any hobby that time, I just do what ever I wanted, whether it's playing outside or just reading my books.

Then at fourth grade, I had this TV station called Animax (I'm sure a lot of teenagers know) and I watched it everyday after I arrived home. The first anime I loved was Keroro Gunso, about of some sort of frog alien invading the earth. Looking back I can't believe I liked that show. I started my hobby of drawing, but I drew the frogs from that show. I still keep them, and looking at them makes me rather surprised I was actually proud of them. I continued to draw at fifth grade, this time I started drawing anime styled humans, Teenage girls in short skirts, flowing hair, I loved drawing things like that. I only shaded my drawings, though, I didn't have the initiative to color them with crayons or color pencils, even though I had them. I was very lazy that time, after all I knew it's gonna be dirty and untidy.

Then at the last week of April, my cousin paid a visit to our place. They lived in Canada. I found out she was also an anime and manga fan, but she was really into Pokemon, and I was not. How surprised I was to see her drawings. It was so tidy and cute, way more professional than mine. I felt humiliated, since we came from the same family and especially she was a year younger than I am. But even though I was envious, she introduced me to digital art, and we became closer.

In digital art, you use art programs such as Microsoft Paint (this is for pixel art, actually), ArtStudio, Paint Tool SAI, Adobe Photoshop, and many more. I had a netbook which only had MS Paint 2003 that time, yet my cousin could draw very well. I actually had no idea on how you do that, but I tried my best to learn from her. My cousin uses Paint Tool SAI that time, though that was only a one month trial. I started to become jealous, and I really practiced hard to get better.

Then on my 12th birthday, my parents bought me a Wacom Fun Tablet and Manga Studio EX 4 (actually it's special for making and inking manga for professionals). I was extremely happy, and could not wait for me to use them, because Final Exams were coming so I had to study. At the break, I used it and drew a lot of fan art. I also watched a lot of speed paint videos, so I can get to know better of all the tools, windows, and how to use layers better.

Through out the the next school year, a classmate of mine said she uses Paint Tool SAI to draw. But actually, Paint Tool SAI can only be used if you have the liscence and pay for the program. Then she said that you can download a free copy from the internet. At first, I couldn't believe it. PTS was the program every artist would wish to use since it had a variety of tools and options, also it is easy to use. So I did try it, and I was overwhelmed that you can actually download it!

Then I used PTS from since then, and tried all of the tools and styles. I'm trying to find my own style and in addition I used my artworks for school projects. I'm pretty happy of my creations now, but I'm still trying my best to be a better manga and anime artist!

Myanmar's Telecom Race Ennters Final Stretch

The country which has a low economy growth, Myanmar, due the lack of communication and technology growth, has finally received foreign companies who will operate two new mobile-phone networks. It is said that a huge amount of citizens will be able to purchase cheap and high tech mobile-phones and will no longer have difficulties in communications.

I'm really glad for this big improvement since Myanmar will not be isolated from technology anymore. It will be easier for them to contact others if there are emergencies such as accidents. Important services will be done faster and easier as well. They will also be able to use internet with a cheap charge. There will be a lot of advantages for Myanmar from this activity. I think other countries should improve their country's technology, even though it's just a little act. After all, one improvement is better then none.

I hope Myanmar will keep up improving their economy and also other countries which needs them.

Suu Kyi criticizes two-child limit on Muslims in western Myanmar

By Jethro Mullen, CNN
May 28, 2013 -- Updated 1059 GMT (1859 HKT)

In western Myanmar, there is a two-child limit policy for the Muslim families. Suu Kyi does not think that this follows the human rights and criticizes about this issue.

I agree with Suu Kyi's opinion. We should not differentiate each other, no matter in what ways. The Muslims have freedom on the amount of child they want to have, even if Myanmar will be populated with the Islam religion. We are all human, so we all have rights in the things we should have. What is the problem if there will be a lot of Muslims in Myanmar? I don't really understand, actually.

I hope this conflict will be over with a satisfying and correct result, and will not continue in the future.

Daughter to Mother Who Reappeared After 11 Years: Rot in Hell

CNN, May 4, 2013

Brenda Heist, a mother who abandoned her family, has returned mysteriously returned after 11 years. But her daughter, Morgan Heist, is enraged about what her mother did to her. She tweeted that she wants her mother to rot in hell.
I'm sure Brenda regretted what she did to her family. And I also understand that Morgan is terribly angry at her mother. But they both should try their best to control their mixed emotions. No matter what she did, Brenda will always be Morgan's mother, and therefore she should forgive whatever her mother has done to her. But sadly, they both decided to make their own new paths after the huge incident. I guess that's what they both want, so they should go on with it, and this time Brenda should be more careful in making decisions.
I hope they can live on fully after what happened.

World Bank President: We Can End Extreme Poverty by 2030

CNN, 5 April 2013

In two weeks, economic policymakers from around the world will gather in Washington, D.C., for the World Bank-IMF Spring Meetings. As has been the case for the past five years, there will be much talk of economic crisis and of strategies to restore confidence, kick start growth, and create jobs.

I think this is a wonderful news for all of us. There is still hope to end our economical problems. There's finally an act from the World Bank Group. Unlike the previous years, we don't even know if they have a campaign or program to help the world's economy. I'm happy that they now started an act to help poverty all over the world. Based on the article, I can know they are serious and optimistic towards the world's future.

I hope they don't just leave this issue and try their best to help world poverty.

Mom to teenage son accused in baby shooting: 'I love you'

 CNN.com, 26 March 2013

A 17 year old named De'Marquise Elkins and a 15 year old were accused for shooting a baby. The baby was shoot in the head in front of  his mother. At the court, De'Marquise's mother said he is innocent and bursted into tears. The mother of the baby said she wants the murderer to be killed. "A life for a life", she said. This happened at Georgia, America.

There are so many murder case in America now days. And this time, it's a baby's life that is taken. The murder cases are getting to far now. America should ban every weapon store in there. If not, more lives would be taken away. Also the States should educate the students about how terrible killing is. I agree with the mother of the murdered baby of the rule "a life for a life". No matter what age someone is, he/she should be given the right punishment. De'Marquise's mother should accept the truth no matter what.

I hope De'Marquise will be given the right punishment by the court and both his mother and the victims mother would calm down.

Teen at school for first time since being shot by Taliban

 CNN.com, 20 March 2013

Malala Yousafzai is finally going to school after getting shot in the head and neck five months ago. Now she goes to school at Edgbaston High School in Birmingham, England.

I'm really happy that she can go to school again today. She has fought the pain for a long time and she deserves to have a normal life just like the others. She has also fought for the rights of girls' education. I'm proud for her. She is such a remarkable young woman. Not every girl can be as brave as her.

I hope she can live normally and peacefully just like other girls and be given a prize for doing such brave act. I also hope someone would wright a special book or article about the incident that happened to her so Malala can influence and inspire more people.

P.S. Sorry, the bold effect on the phrase above cannot be removed somehow.

Airline: Phoenix-bound dog put on wrong flight -- to Ireland

cnn.com, 16 March 2013

An American dog named Hendrix got on the wrong flight. Instead of America, he arrived at Ireland. Hendrix had to wait all alone in the truck for 24 hours before arriving at his house.

I can't believe this really happened, to be honest. Dogs are living things and living things can communicate. Even a dog got on a wrong flight. What if it's a luggage with something really valuable  in it? And Grant, Hendrix's owner, said that the flight company didn't admit their mistake. That is an impolite thing to do.

The flight company should say sorry and be punished the right way.

5 Americans killed in Afghanistan helicopter crash

yahoo.com, 13 March 2013

5 American military servicers got killed by helicopter landing when working in Afghanistan.
The news didn't tell us about the cause of this accident. This is what makes me curious. Is there a fight beetween America and Afghanistan? I'm sure something must've happened, because helicopter  crashes have happened several times to the American soldiers. If their all just accidental crashes, then people should be more careful when driving helicopters. Maybe we should make helicopter learning centers to educate the future drivers.
I hope they can find out more about the helicopter crashes all over the world.

THOUSANDS IN JAPAN ANTI-NUCLEAR PROTEST TWO YEARS AFTER FUKUSHIMA

Yahoo News
March 10, 2013

Japanese citizens protest on the making of nuclear power. A lot of nuclear factories has been shut down.

I think the protest was for a good purpose. Therefore, I think closing the nuclear factories is a good thing to do. The protest was also done in a good way. There were no traffic jam, fights, throwing rocks, bad words and other bad acts.

They did it for the sake of the future generation, and I hope their wish will come true.

PHILADELPHIA OFFICIALS VOTE TO CLOSE 23 SCHOOLS

The New York Times
March 7, 2013

It was decided that the government will close 23 school in Philadelphia due to high budgets and reduce the number of school unused.

It's such a heart-breaking news. Many students must've cried hearing this news. It's really hard to accept incidents like this. Now a lot of kids cannot go to school and they will be backed when they come back to school. But they have to face reality and be tougher. They have no choice but to enter school again next year.

I hope there will be no more protests and the parents can comfort their children.

POTONGAN TUBUH KORBAN MUTILASI BELUM LENGKAP

Kompas.com
Tuesday, 15 March 2013

I just read today's news about the body that was found along the streets of Cawang.  It was cut into several pieces and was put in different parts of the streets.
It's such a terrifying incident. How can someone do such thing? If it's done for no good reason, then it's a big disgrace for the person who did it. You ended the life of someone who didn't even trouble you at all.If that person did have a reason, killing is never the solution. You're just putting yourself in huge trouble. I know for sure that he or she didn't think carefully before doing it. He or she did it because he or she could not control his or her emotion. And putting the pieces on the road is not helping at all. It's not cool and your bragging is just pointless.

I hope the police can find the person and give him the right punishment.
